Experienced Craftsmanship

Kevin J. Holmes got his first State Contractor’s license in 1981 as a Residential Contractor. He built and remodeled many homes until 1986 when he got his General Contractor’s license. The General license allowed him to broaden his resume to Commercial and Industrial projects. Over the years he has built and remodeled commercial businesses from “Main St. to Industrial Row”. The list of clients includes Dentists, Lawyers, Fire Districts, Industrial Cabinetmakers, Manatee County Housing Authority and many others. Kevin currently has two active State Licenses: Certified General Contractor ( CGC036141 ) and Certified Roofing Contractor ( CCC1329861 ).

Efficient and quick process

Depending upon the size of your roof, we usually are able to complete a re-roofing job in 4 days. There are, however, some conditions: they are weather and the amount of rotten wood beneath the shingles needing replacement. There are two inspections: an “in progress” inspection and a final inspection both conducted by County Inspectors. We will give you a timeline for beginning the job and getting the final inspection. The County will issue a Certificate of Completion after the job has the final inspection.

Quality Product

Our typical re-roof consists of the following: Remove all roofing, vents, drip edge and plumbing stack boots. Replace rotten wood as necessary. Re-nail the plywood with #8 ring shank nails 6″ on center, as per code. Install an SWB, secondary water barrier, also known as “peal and seal” underlayment. We do not use tar paper for it is useless in a hurricane. Install new drip edge, vents, and lead plumbing boots. Install a 30-year shingle. We use TAMKO and GAF shingles. Everything we use is approved by the State of Florida and has a State Approval number.
